After the brutal heat and humidity of a Houston summer, the arrival of fall is a relief — and it’s also the perfect time to help your vehicle recover. Start with these three tips to take advantage of the change in seasons and give your car the care it deserves.
Check the tires
After months of driving on hot Texas pavement, start fall by checking your tires for any damage they may have sustained. Extreme heat and temperature changes can also affect tire pressure, so make sure yours are filled at the recommended levels.
Test the headlights
As the days start getting shorter, you’ll need to use your vehicle’s headlights more often. Check them to make sure they’re aimed properly and ensure that clouded lenses aren’t making them less effective. While you’re at it, test your brake lights and turn signals to confirm that they’re in good working order.
Replace the windshield wipers
Your windshield wipers have been baking in the hot sun all summer. There’s a good chance they’re starting to crack and deteriorate — and if so, it’s time to buy a new pair. If your wipers leave streaks when they’re operating, that’s another warning sign that they’ve reached the end of their lifespan. At West Point Lincoln in Houston, we’re here to help with all your fall car care needs. Call our service department soon to set up an appointment for your vehicle.
