At this year’s New York International Auto Show, Lincoln stunned audiences by unveiling the new 2019 Lincoln Aviator, a three-row luxury SUV. Lincoln has done a good job of shrouding the new Aviator in secrecy thus far, but we’ve managed to learn a little bit about this new model.
Here’s what we’ve dug up:
Twin-turbocharged engine and plug-in hybrid technology
We don’t know the specifics yet, but it’s likely the Aviator’s engine will have the same V6 as the Navigator, which means 450 horsepower and a 10-speed automatic transmission. The Aviator will also have plug-in hybrid technologies, but the details are still to come.
Lincoln has always been on the cutting-edge of key fob technology, particularly when fobs replaced physical keys and allowed you to unlock and start your car without touching the fob at all. Now, drivers’ smartphones will do the trick on the Aviator.
With Lincoln Co-Pilot 360, the Aviator will include lane keeping assist, automatic high beam, blind spot information, auto emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and a rearview camera. New for the Aviator is Reverse Brake Assist, for added protection when backing up.
The 2019 Lincoln Aviator will arrive at West Point Lincoln later this year. For more information, visit us or give us a call.
