Unique Christmas Decoration Ideas

Thanksgiving is over and the holiday season is in full swing. If you’re celebrating Christmas and are tired of the same old decorations year-to-year, here are some unique Christmas decoration ideas that you can do this year.

Unique Christmas Decoration Ideas

Decorate Your Mailbox

Not many people think of donning their mailbox in wintry decorations — but the result is beautiful. If you have a standard mailbox, consider draping it with wreaths and holly. You can use fishing wire to hold your decorations in place so that they stay secure and make your mailbox festive for the whole season.

Ornament Cylinders

Looking for some decorations to spruce up your kitchen table or your coffee table? Use some transparent glass cylinders or flower vases and fill them with ornaments, holly, and pinecones. The result is pleasant and elegant centerpieces that you can move around to different tables easily.

Use Flannel

Flannel is the perfect material that reminds everyone of the holidays and of cozy warmth. Use flannel in your house this year by draping blankets over sofas or even using flannel blankets as a tablecloth or as a table runner.

Hang Twinkling Lights

Instead of the standard Christmas lights, think about hanging twinkling lights in doorways, on walls, or in your yard. The dull glow they’ll give off as well as their potential as a dinner backdrop makes them the perfect holiday addition to your home.

There’s no better holiday decoration than a shiny new Lincoln in your driveway. To add one to your own personal wonderland, stop into West Point Lincoln.

How to Prepare Your Car for Winter in Texas

While major snowstorms aren’t as serious a concern as they are up north, winter in Texas still poses some potentially difficult conditions that drivers need to plan for. The best way to make sure that you are ready is to be proactive and prepare your vehicle ahead of time so you can drive with total confidence in any season.

Wiper Blades

Tires

In Northern Texas, colder temperatures and wet weather can really put your car’s tires through their paces. Because of this, it’s important to make sure all tires are properly inflated, aligned, and have sufficient tread going into the colder months of the year.

Windshield Wiper Blades

Winter weather in Texas can be very unpredictable, which is why it’s crucial to make sure your car’s wiper blades are in great condition before winter arrives. If your vehicle’s wiper blades are cracked, bent, or damaged, replace them all now before cooler, wetter weather sets in.

Battery

Fluctuating and generally cooler temperatures can put additional strain on any car battery, so it’s important to make sure that you have enough juice to get you through the season. If your battery is not adequately holding a charge, replacing it now is a much better option than being left stranded down the road. It’s also quite a bit less expensive than having to call for a tow.

These steps won’t just help you tackle whatever weather winter brings. They’ll help you be more prepared for the road any time of year. To have your seasonal maintenance needs met, bring your vehicle into West Point Lincoln.

Get Ready to Fly High in the New 2019 Lincoln Aviator

At this year’s New York International Auto Show, Lincoln stunned audiences by unveiling the new 2019 Lincoln Aviator, a three-row luxury SUV. Lincoln has done a good job of shrouding the new Aviator in secrecy thus far, but we’ve managed to learn a little bit about this new model.

Lincoln Aviator

Here’s what we’ve dug up:

Twin-turbocharged engine and plug-in hybrid technology

We don’t know the specifics yet, but it’s likely the Aviator’s engine will have the same V6 as the Navigator, which means 450 horsepower and a 10-speed automatic transmission. The Aviator will also have plug-in hybrid technologies, but the details are still to come.

Phone-as-key technology

Lincoln has always been on the cutting-edge of key fob technology, particularly when fobs replaced physical keys and allowed you to unlock and start your car without touching the fob at all. Now, drivers’ smartphones will do the trick on the Aviator.

Safety features

With Lincoln Co-Pilot 360, the Aviator will include lane keeping assist, automatic high beam, blind spot information, auto emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and a rearview camera. New for the Aviator is Reverse Brake Assist, for added protection when backing up.

The 2019 Lincoln Aviator will arrive at West Point Lincoln later this year. For more information, visit us or give us a call.

Lincoln Unveils Aviator SUV at New York Auto Show

At this year’s New York Auto Show, Lincoln unveiled its newest lineup addition: the Aviator SUV. This new SUV is not just an expansion of the Lincoln lineup, but a showcase of the future technology that will be available across the brand.

Plug-In Hybrid Option

One feature that will help the Aviator stand out from the crowd will be its plug-in hybrid option. With this powertrain choice, owners will be able to take advantage of some pure electric driving before the twin-turbocharged engine kicks in.

Three-Row Capability

Joy Falotico, president, The Lincoln Motor Company, said, “We believe Aviator’s elegant design, state-of-the-art technology, and the refined plug-in hybrid option will draw even more clients to the Lincoln showroom, including families who are looking for three-row capability.”

Sleek Look

The Aviator has a sleek, streamlined look. That sophisticated feel continues to the interior with a sophisticated, clean cabin. A thoughtfully designed steering wheel puts many controls within a fingertip’s reach of the driver.

State-of-the-Art Technology

Along with its great styling, the Aviator will utilize state-of-the-art technology including Phone as a Key technology. This feature, which can be activated through the Lincoln Way™ app will allow users to lock, unlock, start the vehicle, and even drive without needing a key fob.

For more information about the upcoming release of the Aviator SUV, give us a call or stop by West Point Lincoln.
